The Government of Punjab had established Polytechnic Wing in the year of 2009 in the existing campus of SBS State Technical Campus
with an objective to make optimal utilization of existing available resources and to accelerate the development process of the State
in general and this border region in particular.
The Polytechnic Wing is in D-Block. The Polytechnic Wing follows the semester system of education. The academic year is
divided into two semesters, July to December and January to June. The State Board final examinations are held at the end
of each semester. All the branches of Polytechnic Wing are recognised by AICTE, New Delhi.
The Polytechnic Wing Laboratories/Practical/Workshop Classes are conducted in Engineering Wing Laboratories which
are fully equipped with latest equipment and experienced technical supporting staff which provide strong and active
support in the smooth functioning of the different laboratories. In addition, Polytechnic Wing has its own two Computer
Laboratories and one each Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry and English and Communication Skills Laboratories.
Polytechnic Wing is being run under the able guidance of Dr. Sanjeev Dewra.
