National Cadet Corps (NCC) Visit NCC web site


NCC is compulsory for completion of the B.Tech. Degree as per the new ordinances of Punjab Technical University Jalandhar. Our Technical Campus has Boys and Girls NCC unit run by 13 Punjab Battalion, Ferozepur and 5 Punjab Girls Battalion, Moga respectively having two boys and 1 Girls platoons with troop members 6/13 and P1/4 respectively . The total quota of the boys platoons is 106 and Girls platoons is 53. To enhance the confidence level and to fill the students with the patriotic feelings, the Technical Campus has applied for new platoons for poly wing and management wing (3 for boys). The SBS STC is drawing its attention by providing such challenging activities in its campus to the technical students to be a important part of Indian defensive wing. NCC lays a sound foundation to enter into the field of Defence. Besides this, the additional marks are included in almost every technical interview for every NCC cadet, especially, during the recruitment of Defence officials.

The aims and objectives of the NCC programme


  • Development of leadership, character, comradeship, spirit of sportsmanship and ideal of service
  • Creation of a force of disciplined and trained persons who could, in a national emergency, be of assistance to the country
  • Provision of training for students with a view to developing in them officer-like qualities, thus also enabling them to obtain commissions in the armed forces

NCC training builds character, physique and instils a sense of discipline and duty. Besides this, the additional marks are included in almost every technical interview for every NCC cadet, especially, during the recruitment of Defence officials.
